Once upon a time there was a key management personnel being hired into an organization.
At that time, there were three long serving male management team members who were working there andwere known to be the key decision makers for the company.
They have worked in the company for so long that they knew the nuts and bolts of what makes it work and what otherwise.
The new key management personnel, during one of the internal discussion, found out that there was a job that has been pending for quite a while without the desired results. One of the long serving male management employee was in charged of it yet has not delivered what was expected after a few months of efforts.
The new key management personnel decided to delegate the unfinished job to another long serving male member of the management team.
He proceeded to exercise his new found responsibility full of enthusiasm.
He managed to get the job done within a month after months of unfinished work by the other member of the management team.
Beaming with pride, he proudly announced to everyone in the management team that the job was done ahead of the schedule.
The new key management personnel was elated.
The other long serving management team member, who could not get the job done even after trying it out for a few months, was left red faced and fuming in disgust.
Immediately the tension and discord could be felt as there was a seething feel of anger even though all of them have been working in the company for many years.
That’s growing distrust and the inability to find peace after the whole new experience exacerbated with time.
Eventually, they were not on good talking terms even though many would have thought that it was a trivial issue.
After a few months and feeling unwanted, the long serving management team member who managed to get the job done within a month, threw in his resignation letter in disgust.
The irony of it was that the resignation was accepted by the new key management personnel without much discussion which shocked the team member who felt unwanted.
He was even more frustrated with the whole situation.
Meanwhile, the third member of the long serving management team was not too happy about her current responsibilities and continued to voice his displeasure over his work which compelled him to work even longer hours and travelled a lotmore than many others.
He confided in the other member of the management team who just resigned as he found him very daring and duly held on to his principles.
The other member managed to convince him to resign from his current post as he felt that he should not let the frustration of his work to compromise his quality of life.
He eventually relented and took the decision to resign even though he felt that he still has many more good years to contribute in an effective way to the company.
In a single strike, two of the original key management team members have resigned rendering the third member alone.
However it was well known at that time that their strength is based on their cumulative presence and inter dependence of each other.
With two of the three team members resigning the third one, even though holds the most power was rendered ineffective.
He could not stand up against the tirade of the new key management employee as he was now fending the attacks alone instead of defending it as a team of three.
